LANGUAGE AND COMMUNICATION: BARRIERS AND CHALLENGES
July 2011, teachers, educators and research scholars in English will come together to share their knowledge and experiences in using language for communication and for professional development and networking.
Shri Ramswaroop Memorial College of Engineering and Management is hosting a three-day conference on ‘Language and Communication: Barriers and Challenges’, for the teachers, educators and research scholars from 14-16 July 2011 in Lucknow, India. The event is expecting to get support from All India Council for Technical Education.

Objectives
The objectives of the conference are:
· To provide an opportunity for teachers, educators and research scholars from across India to meet and share best practice and experiences
· To provide teachers, educators and research scholars an opportunity for professional development and updating which will enable them to become more effective
· To establish and build a sustainable community and network of academics
What will conference cover?
Over three days, the conference will have panels and paper presentations on the following themes:
1. Attitudes toward language(s)
2. Processes and interference in Second Language Acquisition
3. English Language Teaching: trends and challenges
4. Socio-cultural influence on communicative competence
5. Communication, training, cultural variation and challenges
Who all can participate?
We expect 200 teachers, educators and research scholars from across the nation to participate in the conference. Students can participate as delegates.
How can you participate?
You can contribute to the conference as a speaker or as a delegate. Prospective speakers are encouraged to complete the Speaker Proposal Form and submit their applications (refer to Call for Papers) no later than 15 April 2011.
Those who are interested to participate as delegates are requested to complete the registration formalities latest by 1 July 2011. The registrations for the conference will be accepted on a first come first served basis. To register, please submit your Application Form along with the fees mentioned below.

The fee includes registration, conference pack, refreshments and lunch. Accommodation is not included yet, but a list will be available from 1 June 2011.
